Digital X-Rays
In our office, we use digital radiography Schick CDR that provides the best images on the computer screen in real time. Using much less radiation than old-fashioned film x-rays, the Schick sensors are also the thinnest and most comfortable available. Coupled with a computer, digital x-ray technology allows us to enhance the images for better diagnosis of all dental concerns.
Digital Cameras
Intraoral cameras record digital pictures of teeth, aiding in diagnosis and communication. During a consultation, the patient can see what the dentist sees and so the patient can better understand their oral condition, discuss it with us, and make decisions together.
Intraoral digital cameras provide patient education and that education is simplified because the patient can see what we see. Intraoral cameras allow us to show picture documentation of the inside of a patient’s mouth. Patients love the abilities of the intraoral cameras because they can see the exact dental issue, understand the problem, and easily visualize the process necessary in order to remedy it.

How does CEREC work?
After examining the tooth and determining the course of treatment, we will coat a thin layer of reflective powder to the damaged prepared tooth surface. CEREC then uses a state-of-the-art digital 3D camera to create an optical impression. This digital image replaces the sometimes uncomfortable physical impression that is required in traditional procedures. State-of-the-art CAD software allows us to design every precise detail of your restoration with the accuracy you’ve come to expect from us.
The software allows us to customize the shape of the restoration to exactly fit the particular needs of the damaged tooth. Once the restoration has been designed on the computer, exact specifications are sent to our on-site milling machine to create your restoration. About 15 minutes later, your all-ceramic, color-matched restoration is ready for placement. Your new restoration is then fitted, polished and bonded for permanence. Easy Shade
To get just the right shade we take digital photos of our patients’ teeth and send them to our ceramic laboratory to use as a guide. In addition, we use Vita Easy Shade which digitally calibrates the color of the patient’s teeth for a perfect match.
Kavo Diagnodent
It is our goal to help you maintain and improve your oral health. Among the newest technologies is a small laser instrument called the DIAGNOdent®, which scans your teeth with harmless laser light for hidden decay.
X-rays and probing with an explorer are limited in detecting sub surface decay, particularly when the cavity is in its early stages. Fortunately, the DIAGNOdent® is a major breakthrough that allows us to monitor the areas below the hard surfaces. This new technology is completely safe and pain free. This unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of the tooth. A pen like probe simply glides over tooth surfaces constantly checking the health of the tooth. A number scale and an alarm signals the operator when there are signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe and pain free.
User friendly, its display screen is large and easy to read. The action of the meter in the display corresponds exactly to the tactile sensation of using the file. Other features include: slim, lightweight file holder, no zero-adjustment, automatic calibration, battery power indication, and automatic power off function.
