Teeth Whitening: A Beautiful, Brighter Smile
Our providers at Ideal Dental Solutions provide the best teeth whitening in Tysons Corner and Arlington while keeping the cost and convenience for our patients in mind. As we get older, our teeth can develop a lackluster appearance that dulls our smile. This is caused by the breakdown of enamel, the white material that protects our teeth. Age, wear and tear, and diet can cause enamel to hold stains and make it more transparent, allowing the yellowish color of the tooth’s core material to show through.
Our effective teeth whitening procedures are designed to remove the stains and discoloration that form on our teeth, while providing a more beautiful, brighter smile. Our providers offer several different teeth whitening treatments, from those that are done in our office to those that you can do in the comfort of your own home:
- Home Teeth Whitening Kit:
For a more natural progression of teeth whitening, we recommend a professional-grade gel and tray teeth whitening system. We will customize whitening trays to fit your mouth perfectly so that the teeth whitening solution can fill in the area around and between each tooth. The NIGHT WHITE and DAY WHITE teeth whitening gels are professional strength, so you will be able to whiten rather quickly, seeing results after two or three applications. - Zoom Whitening: At Ideal Dental Solutions, we pride ourselves as the most innovative and technically invested cosmetic dentistry in Tysons Corner and Arlington. We have invested in The Zoom2!, an in-office whitening system that revolutionizes tooth whitening procedures. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. The convenience of in-office Zoom2! teeth whitening (compared to days of wearing trays and gradual whitening) makes it the perfect choice for busy individuals. The Zoom2! procedures are simple and painless. They begin with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. Our staff will then apply the proprietary Zoom2! tooth whitening gel, which is activated by a specially designed light and followed by a five-minute fluoride treatment. Teeth typically become at least four to ten shades whiter.
- Deep Bleaching:
We also offer deep bleaching that combines in-office visits with take-home whitening kits to achieve a very deep teeth whitening procedure. For patients who want dramatic results at a rapid pace, we suggest deep teeth bleaching. The first step of the Deep Teeth Bleaching process involves examining and making accurate molds of your teeth, which are used to create a customized deep teeth bleaching tray to fit your teeth. You will then have the process of Zoom2! in-office whitening completed. Within the next day, you will receive your take-home kit. You will use the customized trays with the home whitening gel for three to four days to complete your long-lasting teeth whitening process.

Bonding: Affordably Fix Small Tooth Imperfections
Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry service that refers to the process of bonding tooth-colored resin to the teeth to mask imperfections. Besides providing a cosmetic benefit, bonding can also be used to fill cavities. The resin that is bonded to the tooth is permanent. While you may sometimes need the bonding to be touched up or replaced, it is very unlikely that it will fall off or break away.
Dental bonding, a simplified version of a veneer or a crown, is a cost-effective solution that might work for you. At Ideal Dental Solutions, we recommend bonding for patients who want to:
- Fill in a small gap between two teeth
- Repair decayed teeth by filling a cavity with tooth-colored resin
- Change the shape of a tooth
- Repair chips or cracks in teeth
- Cover up discoloration
- Protect the root of a tooth after it’s been exposed by receding gums
- Make a tooth look larger than it is, which is usually done to make it match the other teeth
At Ideal Dental Solutions, our expert providers will analyze the tooth in question to determine whether bonding is the best cosmetic dentistry solution for you.

Invisalign: Skip the Braces and Do Invisalign
Want beautiful, straight teeth but don’t want the pain and anxiety that can often come with wearing metal braces as a busy adult? Invisalign is an easy and fast cosmetic dentistry solution aimed at being as minimally invasive as possible. Our dentists provide you with a set of aligners that you wear for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each set of aligners with the next in the series, your teeth will gradually move until they reach the position the doctor has prescribed for you. The treatment time could be less than a year, depending on the patient.
Invisalign can be used to treat a majority of the common problems for adults and teens. Whether your ideal smile needs minor improvements or more extensive adjustments, Invisalign can certainly help. It is a cosmetic dentistry solution that successfully treats overly crowded or widely spaced teeth and relieves more complex issues, including overbites, underbites, and even crossbites.

Porcelain Veneers: Create Your Lasting Ideal Smile
Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dentistry procedure that can mask a single fractured tooth, discolored tooth, multiple misaligned teeth, teeth that are not uniform in size or shape, and teeth whose orthodontic treatment has relapsed. A veneer is a restorative material placed over the surface of a tooth. It is generally done to protect a damaged tooth surface (fractures) or improve a tooth’s aesthetics. At Ideal Dental Solutions, we offer two types of veneers:
- A composite veneer is done in one appointment where the composite is directly placed on the tooth.
- A porcelain veneer is fabricated by a dental technician in a dental lab. As a result, the porcelain veneer usually takes more than one visit.
The first appointment will be the initial examination. A complete oral examination includes a visual examination of the gums, teeth, occlusion (bite), and smile line. The medical health of the patient is reviewed. Radiographs (X-rays) are taken of all the teeth, including the teeth that are going to be veneered. A complete set of digital photographs is taken, which will help ensure clear communication between us, the patient, and the lab.
The patient is then seen on the next visit for the preparation appointment. The enamel on the front side of the tooth, the side where the porcelain veneer will be bonded, must be trimmed back or adjusted. Usually, the amount of tooth prepared is in the order of 0.5 to 0.7 millimeters. This preparation appointment usually requires some local anesthetic or freezing.
Once the teeth to be veneered are prepared, a copy of your teeth, or an impression, is taken. Temporaries will be fabricated to protect the vital teeth from sensitivity and to allow us, you, friends, and your family to evaluate your smile. This gives you the opportunity to “test drive” your porcelain veneer-adorned smile outside our practice.
The patient usually returns in a week to ten days for the final insertion appointment. At this appointment, the temporary veneers are removed after a local anesthetic is applied. The teeth are thoroughly cleaned with an antibacterial rinse. The porcelain veneers are tried to fit shape, length, and color. The veneers are then placed on the teeth to allow you to approve your new smile. The porcelain veneers are then cleaned and re-etched. Each veneer is then tacked into place with a dual-cure resin. We then see you for a post-insertion appointment in 24 to 48 hours to double-check the bite and take impressions for a night guard. This night guard protects the veneers from the severe forces of clenching and grinding (bruxism).
